In the news: Despite QC
clash, PNP says SONA 'generally peaceful' as 10 protesters charged http://www.interaksyon.com/article/66996/despite-qc-clash-pnp-says-sona-generally-peaceful-as-10-protesters-charged
I almost fell
off the chair laughing as I read the news item about the police saying that
SONA is generally peaceful. Of course, the proceedings are peaceful, everybody tranquilly
doing what they are doing, no hostility toward nobody, until… the police attacked them without any
provocation with fearsome and uncalled for violence.
Frankly
speaking, the police should be ashamed of themselves for attacking a peaceful manifestation
of unarmed people manifesting their right to express their proptest against
injustices of bad governance, which no crime. If there are criminals in that
incident, they are none other than the police themselves.
The video has
documented it right, the crowd marching by, with someone telling the others, be
calm, no thrtowing of stones, just keep our lines for we are only transferring to
the other lane. Right at that moment, the Police made their charge, hurting unarmed
persons indiscriminately.
So much now with
the motto ‘to serve and to protect’. To serve whom? And to protect whom?
