Festive mood during the manifestation |
From a Cultural Manifestation to a Militant Protest
The group of Bayan Muna and Umangat-Migrante, though the smallest contingent in the rally against China's intrusions in West Philippine Sea has managed to turn the largely cultural show nature of the protest proceedings into a truly militant protest.
Wennie Flores, Chairperson Umangat-Migrante |
Wennie said : Militanly we shout, we educate. "Why are we here. No no no to Chinas invasion in the Philippines..no to USA VFA."
The Bayan Rome/Umangat-Migrante position statement
POSITION STATEMENT
We also demand that China desist from warlike manifestations in the said area and participate in seeking for a peaceful solution with the affected nations, including the Philippines under the arbitrations of the United Nations.
In likewise manner, we also protest the expansion of United States’ expanded encroachement in Southeast Asia which instead of being a deterrent for warlike demonstrations by China, only provoke more unfavorable reactions from the latter causing more threat to the peace and tranquility of the nations in the area, and also oppose America’s renewed efforts to construct military bases in the Philippines in violation of the country’s sovereignity.
DOWN WITH CHINA’S BULLYING !
STOP USA EXPANSIONISM !!!
