The Filipino
community of Rome, Italy is staging a massive protest rally on the 25th
July 2013 1600 Italian Civil Time at the People’s Square (Piazza del Popolo).
The manifestation is part of a worldwide protest actions of Filipinos against
the China’s on areas of the sea that are clearly within the Philippines’ area
of jurisdiction.
The manifestation is organized by Mr. Mher Alfonso as
coordinator and to be participated by the Filipino Communities in Rome, several
organizations including UMANGAT-MIGRANTE Rome, Bayan Rome, Task Force OFWS, Federation
of Filipinos in Italy, and others.
UMANGAT-MIGRANTE
AND BAYAN Rome will forward their position of condemnation of China’s
encroachments in area of Philippine jurisdiction reiterating their support for
the Philippine sovereignity, along with their disapproval of US presence and
stablishment of bases in the Philippines, and question the true motives of the
US expansions in Southeast Asia zones which may affect adversely the peace
in the ASEAN area.
