The point of public relations slogans is that they don’t
mean anything. That is the whole point of good propaganda. You create a slogan
that nobody is goinhg to be against and everyone is going to go for.v Nobody
knows what it means because it does not mean anything. Its crucial value is
that it diverts your attention from a question that does mean something: do you
support our policy? That’s the one you are not allowed to talk about.
Now, that’s fine. But hell broke loose when the COMELEC came
out with their line “THE ELECTION WENT VERY WELL WITH PCOS THAT WE MUST USE IT
AGAIN ON THE BARANGGAY AND PRESIDENTIAL
ELECTION AS WELL”. It touched a chronically sore point on the people’s ribs
that COMELEC has to dive to scape the hornets going after its chief.
