There are no bounds for the president’n love for aesthetic displays reminiscent of Imelda days.


Roxas Boulevard is set for a P250-million makeover as part of the red carpet the government is rolling out for world VIPs.


The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released the amount on Friday to spruce up the boulevard in time for two major international conferences to be held in the country: the 2014 World Economic Forum on East Asia and the 2015 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Summit. After trying to mislead the Filipinos that poverty is diminishing due to GDP gains, now he is masking the truth from his APEC partners.


Somebody please remind the president that cosmetics may rundown and unmask the ugly truth that the wealth derived from his neoliberal measures has only burdened the nation with added poverty and disoccupation.

Insterad of masking it, why not do something concrete to remedy it?

If the president really want to make a beautiful Philippines, he must begin to take measures in genuinely reducing of the social conditions of the Filipinos. There is no need to mask the truth with cosmetic measure. Do something more useful for the people. Philippines does not need is a plastic president.
