The investigation into the death of Kathleen Ann Ilagan who allegedly killed herself at an embassy shelter for abused domestic workers on April 8, 2013. She was found hanging from the doorknob handle at the shelter's bathroom  by a fellow-resident.

Kathleen Ann, 31 year-old single mother of three children was staying at the Embassy shelter for abused domestic helpers for only two days. She came to the embassy after her employer allegedly demanded a sum of BD980 to release her from her contract. She signed a contract of employment as a pastry chef for a bakery which never opened and she ended up working working at the house of her employer preparing cakes and pastries.

Her death attracted the attention of many OFW individuals and organizations as it occured in the height of the scandals involving embassy shelters in the Middle East. The silence of the Philippine embassy in Bahrain on the circumstances of Kathleen's death fanned the doubts of her family and the OFW communities, not only in Bahrain, but around the world as well.

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) who are investigating the case after the family of Kathleen Ann expressed their doubts on the official version of the circumstances of Kathleen's Death.

The investigation, however was concluded by the NIHR claiming it was beyond their jurisdictions.

The inconclusive ending of the investigation will not stop the doubts. Her family and her friend OFWs will continue to clamor for the truth.

Justice will never be served until the truth has been reached!

JUSTICE FOR KATHLEEN ANN!!!
