The case of the Indonesian domestic worker underscores the plight of many like her in many countries particularly in the mideast.
Strict regulations must be emposed on recruitment agencies by the labor exporting governments about the rights of these workers and inform the prospective employers of the same rights.
But the solution for this problem lies in the countries of origin as in the Philippines, one of the leading labor exporting country in the world. Creation of jobs with decent salary to stop the labor exportation programs. Understanding between labor exporting and receiving countries on the enforcement of anti-abusive practices would also help greatly in stopping the maltreatments and other workers rtights by employers.
