Farmers reenact the Mendiola Massacre amid a backdrop calling for President Aquino’s ouster. (Ilang-Ilang Quijano)

Farmers from Hacienda Luisita, Hacienda Dolores and other areas of unresolved  agrarian land disputes commemorated the Mendiola Massacre with a protest march in Mendiola to demand for the ouster of Pres. BS Aquino III and system change.

The infamous Mendiola Massacre happened on January 22, 1987 when a massive group of farmers from Hacienda Luisita, marching towards the presidential palace to demand land reforms from then President Cory Aquino, mother of the present president, was fired upon by the security forces  resulting to the death of 13 farmers.

Twentyseven years has lapsed after the incident  and the farmers and the farmers are still demanding for justice and significant land reforms denied to them. 27 years highlighted with more injustices and abuses by big landlords.

Hundreds of farmers from Hacienda Luisita, Hacienda Dolores, and other areas of unresolved land disputes in Central Luzon and Southern Tagalog commemorated the infamous massacre in a protest, which highlighted the need to change a system controlled by “corrupt bureaucrats serving the interests of (big landlords and businesses).” Almost three decades later, farmers testify that nothing has changed. The Mendiola case is a test of BS Aquino where his true loyalty lies. His rank as president suggests that his loyalties must lie on the people of the Philippines. But he never carry the badge of the Philppines in his attire. Instead he carry the yellow ribbon badge of his family. Is this an indication of where is BS Aquino’s loyalty. To his family which is the big landlords Cojuancos? Is this is why he continue to close his eyes on the question of significant agrarian reforms and the resolution of the chronic poverty and unemployment in the country?

Is it time, then, to kick the Casique President and his band of corrtupt bureaucrats that serves only the interests of big landlords and businesses out of power?

The nation is gravely sick! And the time for remedy is now, not tomorrow or any other day!

KICK THE US PUPPET CASIQUE’S BUTT OUT OF POWER NOW!
