THE DISMALLY LOW TURNOUT OF
VOTERS IN OAV ROME
Many OAV voters in Rome have not yet received
the ballots sent by the Philippine Embassy to Italy eight days before the final
day of voting. This is the reason for the dismally low turnout of
voters in this city. As of Sunday, (May 5, 2013), there were only 580
voters who casted their votes in Rome out of 12,666 despite vigorous and massive campaign of
Migrante Partylist Rome Chapter to encourage the voters to participate in the
2013 OAV elections.
We, therefore, advise the voters who didn’t receive yet their ballots and want to vote, to go personally to the Philippine Embassy on or before 13 May 2013, report the failure to receive the ballot and request a special substitute ballot to be issued to them to enable them to vote. Voters must bring with them a valid document of identification (Passport, Carta d’Identita or Permesso di Soggiorno). They are advised further to destroy the original ballot sent thru mail by the Embassy once they received after they have voted or after 13 May 2013 to prevent fraud and abuse by any party with malicious intention.
A list of voters whose ballots were not sent
due to request of the voters themselves published in the website of the
Philippine Embassy last April 2, 2013 can be found here: LIST OF VOTERS WHOSE
BALLOTS WERE RETURNED TO THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY ROME. https://www.facebook.com/philippineembassy.rome/posts/123991814467344
Those whose name are included in the list are
advsed to report personally and vote at the Embassy on or before 13 May 2013.
Your vote is your voice. Vote wisely and protect your vote. Be vigilant and observe closely the canvassing. Please be guided accordingly.
