Tale of two regimes
Comparing the Aquino regime with that of Marcos regime, it
appears that in just two years Pnoy has superated Marcos’ regime on some points
of interests.
In Marcos’ twenty
years, his regime has a record of three thousand two hundred fifty seven
victims of Extrajudicial killings, eight hundred enforced disappearances,
seventy thousand political prisoners, thirtyfive thousand torture victims and
one hundred twenty thousand Human Rights violation victims.
Also in Marcos’ time, forty percent of the population lived below poverty line, introduced repressive educational policies and enacted
theEducation Act of 1982.
Under Marcos, there were two million unemployed Filipinos.
In Noynoy Aquino’s
two years, more that one hundred victims of Extra judicial killings are
recorded, eleven enforced disappearance victims, one hundred seventy
political prisoners are incarcerated, sixtytwo were victims of torture, and
thirtyseven thousand cases of Human Rights Violations are recorded.
Seventy percent of Filipinos live below onehundredfour Phil.
Peso per day, students suffer from repressive educational policies and
record-high tuition fee increases,
There are about four million six hundred unemployed
Filipinos under Noynoy Aquino’s administration.
The Filipino’s lot has gone from bad to worst. And we are
still hoping for a change.
