We are migrant workers

We are migrant workers

Migrant workers are not  modern day slaves. We are workers who work to earn a living for our family!

We are not cheap commodities to be sold by our governments as lucrative exports. We love our country and time and again,  with much sacrifice, we come forward to bail out our country from the mistakes of our government that are being maniplated by greedy people!

We are not mere tools for development as our governments consider us. We are flesh and blood human beings and we feel pain, loneliness and shed tears for being separated from our family, loved ones and land of our birth.

As migrant workers, we toil hard and struggle for a dream of a just society where families are not broken apart just for the need to live

We do not want to be called heroes. What we want is respect for what we are: migrant workers. We ask nothing but the rightful returns for the unspeakable hardships that we endure, and a brighter future for our children.

IS tHIS TOO MUCH FOR ASKING?
