AQUINO: STOP WORRYING MORE ABOUT GDP RATINGS !

AQUINO: STOP WORRYING MORE ABOUT GDP RATINGS !

The president must also look after otherworks like human development by creation of jobs at home and genuine land reforms

The world economy at the present is really weak, and there's no export, no demand. Aquino must strengthen the Philippines both in terms of GDP and human development by the projection of job creating basic industries and genuine land reforms at home, so by the time the world economy recovers, in such a way as we can move forward and march with the rest of the world, instead of being hell-bent on keeping a lid on borrowing and expenditures to gain the approval of the major credit-rating agencies such as Fitch, Standard and Poor's and Moody's.

The Philippines was number one among the Asean-5 in terms of the human development index (HDI)  in the 1980s at par with Malaysia. Philippines fell behind Malaysia and Thailand, and was slightly better than Indonesia last year.

Poor infrastructure has always been cited by foreigners as a make-or-break deal when investing in the country. The government must increase its borrowing now to fund its infrastructure projects while interest rates are at historic lows and the world economy recovering.
