UN: $301M needed for Yolanda (Haiyan) victims

UN: $301M needed for Yolanda (Haiyan) victims

A gigantic amount of money is needed to assist the victims, reconstruct and rehabilitate the areas devastated by the super typhoon. The Philippine government and international organizations are at the moment oversdtreched in answering this need. But we all know there is money a hundredfold more than the amount needed stashed in the pork barrel. It is time to release this money to cover the amount needed for the disaster caused problem.

I hate to say this, but our government has long since lost the tune of their song "no funds available" becaise there are funds languishing in a crooked system of pork. Its release to direct use in the services like funding the disaster relief and others is called for, without claiming that this system is needed for exactly this purpose because it was never intended as fund for services. It was intended to end in some unscrupolous politicians and bogus NGOs. Remove it from that system so it could be funneled into a better service.
