Browsing thru the news today, two news items captured my
interest: Ex Supreme Courty Justice saying in a TV interview that the people
can abolish the Pork barrel with a petition signed by at least 5.4 million
petitioners, and the other was that Comelec Chief saying it is too early for
the people to take an initiative against pork barrel.
R.A. 6735 states that a people's initiative can be undertaken by gathering the signatures of at least 10 percent of all Filipino voters. At least 3 percent of voters in each legislative district must have also signed the petition.
If half of the OFWs alone, with their almost 11 million numbers,
could abolish this damnable pig system, I think it is a very plausible
initiative to be taken. It is obvious that the Prtesident, Congress and all of
NGOs, Baranggay Capts and his council, Municipal and Provincial pig-fat people,
Tongressmen and slap-eaters in the senate will fight hands and claws to retain their source
of wealth, then it is up for the masses to remove it.
And it is never too early to struggle against a system that
all of us know, is against the interest of the people. The earlier it is axed,
the better for the nation. One could smell something with the remarks of of
trhe Comelec head. How much pig-fat was smeared on him this past election, we
still don’t know if there is any, but
the results of thid elections smells fishy, and the Comelec chief is up to his
forehead the the putrefying results. The Comelec chief is in fact one of the
candidtes for the ax if and when the time comes.
The people can act for themselves if and when a law or the
system goes against the interest of the nation.
All that is needed id unity, solidarity and conviction to do away with a
wasteful and inutile system.
LET US ABOLISH THE PORK BARREL!
DEPORK THE COUNTRY!!!
