I would like to ask for help from you. I am a Filipino who applied as a driver in Dubai. I signed a contract with Al Romaithi International Manpower Services and its partner, Sama Alkhaleej, as a private driver in Dubai but I ended up working as a maid.

The office of Al Romaithi is at #803 A.Gen. Malvar St. Cor. P. Hidalgo St. Malate, Manila. Now, I am being handled by a representative of Al Romaithi here in Ajman and put with their agency partner, Tom Labours Recruitment, located at P.O. Box 5948 near Al Madina Police Station.

I want to go home to the Philippines but the agency is keeping my passport and wants me to pay them. Together with me is a couple from Mindanao. The husband applied as a driver and the wife as a helper. However, they both ended up working as helpers and in their visa, it was stated "sew man" and "sew lady'.

There are other sad cases here of Filipinos who have to do jobs different from what they applied for. Hope our Philippine government can do something about recruitment agencies that "cheat" their Filipino colleagues. Hope you'll be able to help us come home to the Philippines.
